The mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is one of the two subspecies of the Eastern Gorilla. There are two populations. Despite The Lion Guard (Based on The Lion King), its fandom and the Disney fandom falsely stated that the mountain gorilla inapproiately living in the snowy Rwenzori theluji mountains (Which the latter led to criticisms) their real habitats and homes they lived and resided basically are the Iconic and remarkable Virunga mountains of Central and Eastern Africa, within three National Parks: Mgahinga, in south-west Uganda; Volcanoes, in north-west Rwanda; and Virunga in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). As of November 2018 it is listed as endangered by the IUCN. The other is found in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Some primatologists consider the Bwindi population in Uganda may be a separate subspecies, though no description has been finalized. As of June 2018, the estimated number of mountain gorillas remaining more than 1,000 individuals.

Mountain gorillas are descendants of ancestral monkeys and apes found in Africa and Arabia during the Oligocene epoch (34-24 million years ago). Animal Strength[]

Gorillas are stronger than human adults combined. The silverbacks (Mature males) are in fact Stronger than 20 adult humans combined as they can lift or throw up to 815 kgs while a well-trained man can only lift up 400 kgs. Any adult gorilla can lift up to 450 kilograms, not with a body size than go as high as 200 kgs. A bite from the gorilla's fangs can cover about 1,300 pounds per square inch, which is way higher to the predatory lions which only have 650 pounds per square inch (Making the gorilla one of Africa's most powerful animal on the entire continent on earth after the African bush elephant and river hippopotamus overall). Typical gorilla punches deliver 1300-2700 pounds of force from his fists. Consider that the average, untrained Human throws a punch with roughly 150 pounds, which is more than the average puncher but still far less than the gorilla. Diet[]

The mountain gorilla is primarily a herbivore; the majority of its diet is composed of the leaves, shoots and stems. Although they're also insectivores as the apes can also feed on Siafu ants. They can also even feed on wild celery, roots, bulbs, termites, tropical African eastern-central forest fruit, African fungi, tree bark, giant African snails and even bamboo shoots.

Their natural enemies are crocodiles, humans and mostly leopards.

Lifespan[]

Their lifespan is over 40 to 50 years.

Size[]

Their size is 4 to 6 feet tall. Though they're slightly larger than the Western Lowland Gorilla and the Eastern Lowland Gorilla when being born with gigantism. In Rwanda's volcanoes national park a mountain gorilla named Guhonda meaning "To beat" in the Kinyarwanda language and the leader of the Sabyinyo is a gentle giant and is up to 8 to 10 feet tall.

Reproduction[]

Females can give birth every 2 to 3 years, starting from the age of 10-12. Males begin breeding around 15 years of age. Females generally have 4 to 6 offspring in their lifetime.

As stated earlier, despite the mountain gorilla inaccurately and temporarily living in the infamous and unsatisfying Theluji Mountains shown in Disney Junior and Ford Riley's forgettable tv show The Lion Guard, their actual homes and native lands where these apes live in physical existence are basically the iconic and majestic Virunga Mountains within the Albertine Rift montane forests, Albertine Rift montane cloud forest and the prehistoric Bwindi Impenetrable Forest of Eastern-central Africa's Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, ranging in elevation from 2,200 to 4,300 m (7,200 to 14,100 ft) (Which Ford Riley, the actors and the writers of The Lion Guard and its fandom also had intentionally ignored, leading to a serious and upsetting unsettled situation and contains major zoology errors that they never fixed). Most groups live on the slopes of three of the dominant volcanoes: Mount Karisimbi, Mount Mikeno and Mount Bisoke.
