The common squirrel monkey (Saimiri sciureus) is a small primate found in South America. Until recently there were only two species of squirrel monkey, but the genus has been reclassified into five species. Squirrel monkeys spend up to 80% of the day foraging for fruits, insects and other small animal prey. Squirrel monkey groups can consist of up to 100 animals.
