The goliath bird-eating spider is the largest living arrachnid, and lives in South America. If threatened by a potential predator, the goliath birdeater will make high-pitched screeches while rubbing their front feet together, but if this does not work, like other tarantulas, the goliath bird-eating spider will throw their hairs at the predator, which can irritate the skin and eyes.
Diet[]
The goliath bird-eating spider will eat mostly insects, worms, frogs, and mice. It doesn't usually eat birds.
Lifespan[]
Goliath bird-eating spiders can live up to 20 years.
