Toronto Zoo Animals

The Toronto Zoo is the largest zoo in Canada. Their animals are split into 8 different sections.

Africa[]

Their animals in the African section include white lions, Masai giraffes, Grévy's zebras, river hippopotamuses, white rhinoceroses, Lake Malawi cichlids, hamerkops, Meller's chameleons, African penguins, pygmy hippopotamuses, West African dwarf crocodiles, warthogs, African small-clawed otters, lowland gorillas, red river hogs, cheetahs, elands, olive baboons, lesser kudus, Nile softshell turtles, ring-tailed lemurs, grey crowned cranes, southern ground hornbills, spotted hyenas, straw-coloured fruit bats, and white-headed vultures.

Americas[]

Animals in the Americas section include American flamingos, blue and gold macaws, capybaras, golden lion tamarins, atlantic salmon, boa constrictors, spectacled owls, Cuvier's dwarf caimans, common marmosets, American alligators, two-toed sloths, pygmy marmosets, axolotls, river otters, red-eared sliders, jaguars, white-faced sakis, beavers, poison dart frogs, southern tamanduas, and common snapping turtles.

Australasia[]

Animals in the Australasia section include western grey kangaroos, Bennett's wallabies, furry-nosed wombats, bearded dragons, short-beaked echidnas, emerald tree boas, fly river turtles, green tree pythons, kookaburras, moon jellyfish, clownfish, and blue tangs.

Canadian Domain[]

Animals in the Canadian Domain include grizzly bears, wood bison, North American cougars, trumpeter swans, and raccoons.

Discovery Zone[]

Animals in the Discovery Zone include horned owls, green-winged macaws, Harris's hawks, crested seriemas, pygmy goats, rabbits, secretary birds, miniature donkeys, ravens, and turkey vultures.

Eurasia Wilds[]

Animals in the Eurasia Wilds section include bactrian camels, Amur tigers, Himalayan red pandas, Himalayan snow leopards, yaks, Asian wild horses, lion-tailed macaques, eagle owls, and Steller's sea eagles.

Indo-Malaya[]

Animals in the Indo-Malaya section include greater one-horned rhinoceroses, mainland clouded leopards, Sumatran orangutans, babirusas, reticulated pythons, giant gourami, Sumatran tigers, common peafowls, tri-colour sharks, reticulated pythons, Indian star tortoises, and Mandarin ducks.

Tundra Trek[]

Animals in the Tundra Trek section include Arctic wolves, polar bears, caribous, northern bald eagles, and snow geese.

Animals Previously At The Toronto Zoo[]

Species formerly at the zoo include African bush elephants, dholes, mandrills, gaurs, Malayan tapirs, black-handed spider monkeys, giant pacific octopus, New South Wales koalas, Tasmanian devils, meese, red foxes, muskoxen, llamas, maras, wisent, scimitar-horned oryxes, elk, brown fur seals, giant pandas, and caracals.
