The Philadelphia Zoo is the oldest zoo in North America. Animals in the African section include Ankhole-Watusi cattle, red river hogs, burchell's zebras, reticulated giraffes, hippopotamuses, and southern white rhinoceroses. Animals in the Penguin Pool section are humboldt penguins. Animals in the Diversity of Birds section include Indian peafowls, golden pheasants, vulturine guineafowls, Victoria crowned pigeons, sunbitterns, and Nicobar pigeons. Animals in the Bear Country section include sloth bears and Andean bears. Animals in the Rare Animals Exhibit section include naked mole rats, Hoffmann's two-toed sloths, white-faced saki monkeys, and Rodrigues fruit bats. Animals in the Waterfowl Pond section include Caribbean flamingos, trumpeter swans, and mandarin ducks. Animals in the PECO Primate Center include white-faced saki monkeys, golden lion tamarins, red-shanked doucs, black-handed spider monkeys, wolf guenons, common squirrel monkeys, lar gibbons, ring-tailed lemurs, black-and-white ruffed lemurs, slow lorises, Sumatran orangutans, Coquerel's sifakas, aye-ayes, and western lowland gorillas. Animals in the Big Cat Cove section include African lions, Amur tigers, Amur leopards, cougars, jaguars, and Himalayan snow leopards. Animals in the Southern Zoo section include South African cheetahs, and maned wolves. Animals in the Diversity of Birds section include turkey vultures, bald eagles, and crested caracaras. Animals in the Reptile Den section include Galápagos giant tortoises, Aldabra giant tortoises, West African crocodiles, yellow anacondas, dwarf caimans, and West African dwarf crocodiles. Animals in the Domestic Animals section include pygmy goats, domestic turkeys, huacaya alpacas, doves, and domestic pigs.
