The Bronx Zoo is a zoo found in the Bronx, New York, USA. Some of their African animals include east African lions, reticulated giraffes, Grévy's zebras, white rhinos, aardvarks, geladas, gorillas, red ruffed and ring-tailed lemurs, hyenas, crocodiles, and fossas. Some of their Asian animals include Asian elephants, Indian rhinos, Himalayan red pandas, Malayan and Amur tigers, gharials, Asian tapirs, Przewalski's horses, nilgai antelopes, orangutans, and white-handed gibbons. Some of the North, Central and South American animals include grizzly bears, red wolves, green anacondas, giant anteaters, Caribbean flamingos, and sea lions. Animals previously at the Bronx Zoo include African forest elephants, Sumatran rhinoceroses, hippopotamuses, and Chinese alligators.
Controversies[]
The Bronx Zoo got a new elephant in 2021, but kept her separated from the other elephants, although elephants are very social animals, due to the others acting aggressively.
