These are the animals that appeared in George Orwell's controversial yet iconic 1945 novel Animal Farm about livestock animals on a farm in rural England including pigs named Napoleon, Old Major, Squealer and Snowball, Two horses including a Shire Horse named Boxer and a Gypsy Vanner Horse named Clover, a goat named Muriel, a donkey named Benjamin, packs of dogs, chickens, cows, rats and flocks of sheep taking over the barnyard after a battle with their drunk, abusive and alcoholic farmer and human Mr. Jones. The 1954 tradtional-animated and 1999 live-action film adaptations and even the Andy Serkis computer-animated film adaptation also count.
