The reindeer, also known as the caribou in North America, (Rangifer tarandus), is a species of deer with circumpolar distribution, native to Arctic, sub-Arctic, tundra, boreal, and mountainous regions of northern Europe, Siberia, and North America. This includes both sedentary and migratory populations. They are famous for pulling Santa's sleigh.

Caribous eat mostly grass, moss, and lichen.
Lifespan[]
Caribous can live up to 20 years in the wild. Up to 30 years in captivity.
Predators[]
Caribous are sometimes hunted by polar bears, arctic wolves, and wolverines.
